'The Gerrymander Splits'
An audio spot, originally aired in 2022
With the upcoming midterm elections in mind, I pulled this two minute audio spot from the archives. I was a regular contributor to a Washington DC political commentary program, providing one to two minute segments in satire and parody. Don’t expect headliner dazzling performances here. I was the writer and performer, doing the recording in my own studio, music on my Roland keyboard in GarageBand, did all the voices (even the backup singers), and sound-mixing myself. Strictly a solo act on all counts. Still, it was a lot of fun and resonated with the audience. The video bed was added later for YouTube.
Posting Cartoons in Video
Being retired (sort of) and no longer having a hometown newspaper or syndicate, I’ll be posting my work on this venue. Since retiring, I’ve been exploring other avenues to showcase my cartoons and illustration, including video. It’s been fairly simple, adding music and sound, with a bit of pans and closeups, occasionally using a bit of animatics. The closest I’ve gotten to animation so far is this short subject done in vertical format.
